Description
Rare circa 1840 large cast iron name plate holder missing the name plate which slides in from one side and has guide slot around the inside edges to hold it in place. Measures 14″ wide x 3-3/8″. Opening on the front side 1-7/8″ x 8-3/4″. Marked on back side what looks to read MADE IN ENGLAND and a WK. Could have been mounted on the building or a door.
